‘The Jealous God’ is a 2005 drama film written and directed by Steven Woodcock, based on the 1964 eponymous novel by John Braine.

When devotion clashes with desire, a teacher’s heart becomes a battlefield of faith and forbidden love.
Vincent, a reserved schoolteacher, finds himself torn between his strict Catholic upbringing and his passionate love for Laura, a woman deemed unsuitable by his family. As tensions rise, he must choose between the expectations of his community and the call of his heart.
