“The Lost Moment” is a 1947 Gothic psychological thriller film directed by Martin Gabel. The screenplay by Leonardo Bercovici is based on the novella “The Aspern Papers” by Henry James, originally published in “The Atlantic Monthly” in 1888, with its first book publication later in the same year.

A publisher insinuates himself into the moldering mansion of the centenarian lover of a renowned but long-dead poet to find his lost love letters.
