„The Mad Bomber“ is a 1973 thriller film directed by Bert I. Gordon, who also wrote the screenplay together with Marc Behm.

William Dorn, a middle-aged man in Los Angeles, rigs and sets off bombs in places he associates with the drug-overdose death of his daughter and the collapse of his life. Investigating detective Geronimo Minnelli learns that at one of the locations of his attacks, a hospital, a rape took place, and both the victim and her rapist likely saw the face of the as-yet-unidentified bomber. The police desperately attempt to simultaneously identify and apprehend both violent criminals, hoping one will lead them to the other.

William Dorn, ein Mann mittleren Alters in Los Angeles, baut Bomben und zündet sie an Orten, die er mit dem Tod seiner Tochter durch eine Überdosis Drogen und dem Zusammenbruch seines Lebens in Verbindung bringt. Der ermittelnde Detektiv Geronimo Minnelli erfährt, dass an einem der Orte seiner Anschläge, einem Krankenhaus, eine Vergewaltigung stattfand und sowohl das Opfer als auch ihr Vergewaltiger wahrscheinlich das Gesicht des noch nicht identifizierten Bombenlegers gesehen haben. Die Polizei versucht verzweifelt, beide Gewalttäter gleichzeitig zu identifizieren und festzunehmen, in der Hoffnung, dass der eine sie zu dem anderen führt.
