„The Neighbor’s Wife and Mine“ (マダムと女房, Madamu to nyōbō) is a 1931 comedy film directed by Heinosuke Gosho from a screenplay by Akira Fushimi and Komatsu Kitamura.
A writer struggles to finish his story against many distractions, but the jazz party next door proves to be too much.
It was Japan’s first feature length film to fully employ sound, as well the earliest surviving Japanese sound film.

Ein Schriftsteller kämpft darum, seine Geschichte trotz vieler Ablenkungen zu Ende zu schreiben, aber die Jazz-Party nebenan erweist sich als zu viel.
Es war Japans erster abendfüllender Film, der vollständig mit Ton gedreht wurde, und auch der früheste erhaltene japanische Tonfilm.
